Okayama, Japan – Cloudy skies, 31 drivers, and two spectacular races marked the second round of the SIMGEAR F4 Summer Challenge at the Okayama International Circuit.
Qualifying: Tight Margins at the Top
Kris Vrazhilov claimed pole position with a lap time of 1:27.771, edging out Gonzalo Prieto by just two thousandths (1:27.773). Viktor Varbanov followed in third with 1:27.881. The stage was set for a fierce fight up front.
Race 1: Stability and Skill
The opening race saw a clean start, with the front runners quickly pulling away. Gonzalo Prieto managed to hold his nerve and pace, taking the win just 0.3 seconds ahead of Gian Zoutewelle, who showed excellent form throughout. Kristian Novev completed the podium, while Gabriel Ivanov set the fastest lap with a time of 1:27.885.

Race 2: Reverse Grid, High Drama
The second race, with a reverse grid for the top 10, brought added tension. Championship leader Gian Zoutewelle was forced to retire early after a collision before Turn 2. Kris Vrazhilov took full advantage, setting a blistering pace and finishing nearly 5 seconds ahead of Gonzalo Prieto. Martin Yankov secured third place, while once again Gabriel Ivanov clocked the fastest lap, pushing hard in the fight for the podium.
Onward to Monza
The next round will take place at the legendary Monza circuit on June 29, with cloudy and rainy conditions expected – a perfect recipe for more surprises and new contenders to emerge in the championship.
